Where I would be right now.

I love traveling, but to be honest spring is the best time to stay right here in Marin. The flowers are in bloom, everything is green (or more green than usual, since it is always green here). I am not a fan of the cold weather, but the cold rainy days that still sporadically occur among the nice sunny days, create the abundance of flowers, and plants. and all the animals are out (its mating season) playing, finding food, and, you start to see baby squirrels, ducks, and deer. I love it. It is the best time to go on hikes because it is not to hot. Yet, is is warm enough to lounge around the pool absorbing the sun. It is still to cold to go to the beach in my opinion, and my pool is not heated so I wouldn't dare get in it this time of year, but knowing the summer is just around the corner brightens my spirits.
If I were to go on a vacation, I would travel to the Caribbean before the hurricane season hits. Or, I would visit Jordan. Petra, one of the new 7 wonders of the world, is a place I have been dieing to visit, and March is the best time of year to do it. In the summer, the desert is way too hot. and in the winter, when it does actually rain, that area can flood. You can fly into Israel and take a day or overnight trip to Petra, or you can just fly into Jordan and stay there. There are many places that are amazing this time of year, and the prices for traveling are not as expensive as they could be in high season (summer for some places, winter for others).

Complete FAIL!!!

Well, I admit I fail at this blogging thing. I had a wonderful 4 week vacation in Paris, the south of France, and Israel and I failed to keep up with my posts. In addition, over winter break I went to Guatemala, Belize and Mexico. So, there obviously haven't been a lack in adventures, but I just really suck at posting anything. Because I plan on traveling so much more in the future, I will try to post on here once in a while, so I hope everyone enjoys.

a step into the not so distant past day 1-2

So, since I have not posted a single thing since I have been here I will try to make up for lost time. I will start with day one and Two. When we arrived, dispite our exsaution we wandered around paris. This first day we walked, walked and walked some more enjoying the view. we saw the louvre (just outside, not in) we saw the Arc de Triomphe. We walked on the Champs Elysees, one of the most prestiges streets in Paris. We saw from a distance the Eiffle Tower, the Notre Dame and many other popular places. We had both a lovely dinner and lunch. The next Day we woke up early to go to the parade for Bastile day. It was warm out but it was fun to see all the different troops of the French military and to see the president of France.

Sorry

I know I said I would post everyday, but I have been busy busy busy. I just got back from the south of france, and I am now in Paris. I didnt have much access to the Internet while I was there so that is why I have no posts. I will update everyone very soon with pictures.

playing catch up

I haven't written in this for a long time. its been almost one year since my trip to Israel last summer. I am in school trying to get my credits done so I can transfer to a university. I hope to take another trip this summer, however being a student on a student budget I am not sure if that will be likely. Adam's cousin from France last week and he wants us to visit him in Paris, that would be wonderful. I have been to Paris once, i loved it and would love to visit it again. Nothing interesting is going on right now, just studying and working. Last week we took a short trip to Carmel California. We took Adam's cousin along with us. The trip was beautiful despite the cold weather. We drove down highway one and stoped at a fruit store where we got fresh organic strawberries, artichoke salsa, honey still in the honey comb, and some pistachios. we stoped at the Monterrey beach and had a lovely picnic with the food we purchased. After that we took the 17 mile scenic drive which goes through pebble beach. we admired one of the most famous golf courses and searched for sea creatures in the tide pools. We watched seals play and sea lions lie in the sun on rocks. when we got to Carmel we did a bit of shopping and then walked to Carmel beach to watch the sun set. It was a cold evening so we quickly rushed to our hotel which had the most delightful view of the ocean, and from there went to a lovely little french restaurant. overall it was a beautiful day. the next day we had pastries and went home. we are in Reno right now visiting my grandparents. I always like coming here and just spending time with my family. in two days we will head back home to start our routine again.
