Italy

No I am not in Italy (yet ;) but I sure wish I were. my cousin Kiley is studying in Italy for a few months. She has been in Florence for about a week now, and that it where she will be attending a university until May. Afterwards she will be traveling around Europe with her boyfriend. Where would I travel to right now? Being winter and not liking the snow at all, I would head south of the equator ( I can handle the heat) some places I would love to visit are Brazil, Peru, maybe even more south to chile. What I would love to do is spend like 3 or 4 months traveling around hopping from country to country. But I don't have any travels planned soon. I spent Oct in Kauai which was amazing, and may go to Israel again. I would also like to go relax in Mexico which even if I were staying at a tourist town would still make it into an adventure. I am not the type to stay all day and night in a resort. I like to explore a country and the culture. Although I have been to Mexico several times there is always plenty to do and discover and what many tourists don't realize is that the culture, food and many traditions vary depending on what part of Mexico you are in. But you would only discover that if you venture away from the resorts. My favorite part of cancun was the real downtown, where the locals were, not the resorts that have the same activities and restaurants that I could get in Vegas.

I am writing this as we are driving down highway 50 going from Utah toNevada. It's so empty here it feels like it's only us and the mountains desert and sage brush. It make me anxious almost while in awe at the same time. There is no cell phone reception at all and that makes me nervous knowing that if something were to happen our only hope would be that there was another soul on this road besides us. This is the most lonely and isolated I have felt this whole tripn We have always either had cell reception or around other people even if it was just a farm here or there. But here we lack all connections with the world. There ARE cars every now and then, but not enough to take away the isolated feeling. Don't get me wrong it's AMAZING!!!
